IQD rallies swarm streets nationwide

TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – Nationwide rallies supporting Palestine, in International Quds Day, were held Friday morning in Tehran and 770 other cities across the country.

This year’s theme in International Quds Day is ‘Cry of Islamic Umma Unity against Modern Ignorance and Child Killing from Gaza to Yemen;’ in Tehran, the fasting demonstrators came together in University of Tehran for ultimate ritual of Friday Prayer from 9 different rallying routes.

The event was covered with more than 100 reporters from 70 foreign media, and more than 800 domestic correspondents and photojournalists cover the event for the nation. Among the notable personalities were religious leaders (marjaa), the high-ranking officials, party leaders, and other active bodies defending Palestine, which had issued statements, calling the public for participating in rallies. 

The rallies were attended by government officials including President Hassan Rouhani, Ali Larijani, parliament speaker, Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Supreme National Security Council was also spotted among the crowd. Of notable clerics Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani, parliament deputy-speaker; of president deputies, Masoumeh Ebtekar, the head of Department of Environment; of Army Navy, commander-in-chief Rear Adm. Habibollah Sayyari; of cabinet, first deputy-president Ishaq Jahangiri, Tehran’s Mayor, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf,  and Mohammad Farhadi, Minister of Science, Research, and Technology were participating in the rallies.

Huge number of crowds were present carrying banners reading popular Revolutionary mottos. They also carried posters with the main theme of this year’s rallies.
